Guardian is the new antitheft system for Symbian Series 60 devices.
Every time you switch on your mobile telephone, Guardian proceeds with authentication of the inserted sim card; if authentication fails, Guardian send a notification sms message to a previously set telephone number.
Features from guardian :
- SMS Notification
- Uninstall Protection
- Hard Reset Protection
- Low Overhead
The cool thing about Guardian is its capability to hide itself when invalid SIM card is inserted. It means the thief will not notice there is Guardian application in the phone. Furthermore, he can’t see Guardian in the Application Manager either. Don’t forget that Guardian will send SMS silently too.
Set password. This password will be asked each time you launch Guardian
Set recipient, i.e. the phone number you want to send SMS when invalid SIM card is inserted or if your phone is stolen, it’s good if the phone number is second phone or our family phone’s number.
Set message for the SMS. By default, the message is “Warning SIM Changed!!!”.
Set status to Enabled.
As you can see above, we get some important information from the thief, including phone number, IMSI, location and operator.
